PCR tests detect the presence and absence of a genetic sequence (DNA or RNA) and its amount. PCR tests are used in the diagnosis of both infectious (such as Hepatitis C virus, Hepatits B virus, HIV and SARS-CoV2, among others) and non-infectious diseases.

The first step in these tests is to isolate the genetic material from a sample. This is conducted by a DNA/RNA extraction kit. The extraction kit is universal and not diseases specific. The second step is to the amplify the amount of genetic material present so that they are detectable and this is done by a PCR kit.

PCR kits are diseases specific kits. Reme-D develops and manufactures DNA/RNA extraction kits and PCR kits.
